Mail & Guardian’s Power of Women honours 50 extraordinary women
Mail & Guardian hosted the MG Power of Women event in celebration of Women’s Month. The event took place on Friday 27th August showcasing 50 powerful women who are striving to make a difference. Viewfinder partners with Eldos FM to reflect on police brutality
Accountability journalism start-up Viewfinder has launched a #VukaniMaAfrica campaign in partnership with Eldos FM. The campaign was launched in commemoration of the death of Nathaniel Julies who was killed by the police in Eldorado Park a year ago.
The #VukaniMaAfrica campaign aims to channel the voices and experiences of communities affected by police brutality. Nathaniel Julies’ mother spoke to Eldos FM on Friday 27th August 2021 on the anniversary of her son’s death.

Stokvel Talk Roadshow a resounding success
Stokvel Talk hosted a roadshow on August 14th in Sedibeng section, Tembisa. The large audience of the roadshow was made of stokvel and burial society members as well as local residents ranging from the youth to the elderly who were attracted by the vibe. Stokvel Talk invited various service providers and organisations to educate the crowd on topics ranging from finances and savings to ordinary consumer products.

Daily Maverick CEO Styli Charalambous bags SANEF Nat Nakasa Award
The co-founder and CEO of Daily Maverick, Styli Charalambus received the prestigious Nat Nakasa industry award. The award ceremony is hosted by South African National Editors Forum (Sanef) in honour of South Africa’s media practitioners. Styli made it to the history books as this was the first time the award has been given to a CEO-publisher.
