Food for Mzansi hosts Pan-African Summit and launches sister publication
Agri-news publisher Food for Mzansi hosted the first Pan-African Summit on Youth in Sustainable Agriculture in celebration of their third birthday. The Africa-wide virtual event featured attendees from at least 15 different countries. Farmers, agripreneurs, and key role players from across the continent discussed emerging developments and highlighted best practices, technologies, partnerships, and real-life experiences.

From the maize fields of Kenya to the cassava farms in Nigeria and the cattle giants in South Africa. FoodForAfrika.com strives to be the African farmers’ united voice.

Viewfinder launches Police Accountability Tracker dashboard and bags Fetisov Award nomination
Investigative journalism start-up, Viewfinder is excited to launch its Police Accountability Tracker dashboard. Viewfinder’s Police Accountability Tracker is an interface to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate’s (IPID) database. The dashboard is also embedded on fellow SAMIP participant, Daily Maverick’s website.

Viewfinder is nominated for the international Fetisov Journalism Awards 2021 under the Contribution to Civil Rights category. The winning project will be announced on the FJA website on 22 February 2022.

SAMIP in collaboration with Volume launches Media Diaries: The New Normal
SAMIP in collaboration with award-winning podcasting start-up Volume launched Media Diaries: The New Normal at the beginning of November. Produced and hosted by Amina Deka Asma, the podcast covers how newsrooms have been innovating and adapting to what is now known as “the new normal” due to the pandemic. In the latest episode, Volume speaks to financial literacy publication, Zonotho.
